Yesterday, ie., 25-november-2009 I was in
Jaya Engineering College where I gave a talk on "CVS - patch - diff" as a part of Faculty Development Program (FDP). Mr. Senthil Anand from
NRCFOSS accompanied me, who spoke on gcc, java and build tools. There were around 50 participants for these sessions.
FOSSee (
http://fossee.in/) in association with ILUGC (
http://www.ilugc.in/) and Jaya Engineering College (
http://www.jayafossclub.org) is conducting a five day workshop for faculties from various colleges in and around Chennai (northern zone of TamilNadu) on the Free Software syllabus introduced in Anna University (
http://www.annauniv.edu/) affiliated colleges.
I was invited by Jaya Engineering College, Computer Science HOD Mr. Ma. Kumaran, to handle sessions on this workshop. I chose to speak on CVS, patch and diff utils. More info here

It was a refreshing talk for me and also hope it was the same for the audience too :) I started the talk at 12:15pm and finished at 01:15pm. In the afternoon we had practical session were participants tried working with CVS, patch, diff.
I have the same topics + web servers to cover next week (02-december-2009) in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, for the above program for colleges in the south zone of TamilNadu.
PS: The syllabus has CVS to be thought to students which I really pity. People who are responsible for framing/revising the syllabus should see that they introduce subversion in the syllabus (which I stressed in my talk too :) ).
