Time line of HDD space I ve used: * Back in college when I got my first computer which is a HCL easy bee, it had 40 GB of HDD space. * When I joined my first job I got an official laptop with 60 GB of space. * I bought a 120 GB of external HDD when I left my first job. * Then I got my personal laptop which is a HP dv2601, it has 160 GB of HDD space. * In my current job (second) I have an official laptop with 30 GB of HDD space. * Current desktop in home has 1.25 TB of HDD space. Recently I got a new desktop (dejas.stylesen.org) which currently has 1.25 TB of space. It has 6 slots for plugging in SATA disks, I ve used only 3 right now with a 250, 500, 500 GB disks. But I cant expand it anymore since the space for mounting HDD in the cabinet is exhausted. Anyway this is more than enough for me. Interestingly the amount of data I have accumulated so far which includes my projects, etc, will not be more than 1 GB of space :P Then why do I need so much of space in the desktop? Umm, the answer is "I don't know, may be hard disks are cheaper these days?"

Answer!!!

The answer will be known soon :)

Hmmm , can the MBR read data

Hmmm , can the MBR read data more than 1 TB ? I guess you need the advanced GPT .

Does not apply to my setup

I haven't tried, if the MBR can read 1 TB of data. But it does not apply to my setup because I have 250+500+500, so there is no continuous 1TB of space, hence MBR will not have difficulty in reading it. Also I ve set it up in such a way that all OS will get into first HDD ie., the 250G of space.
