Its been more than 3 years since I got my own domain name to host my website ie., www.stylesen.org Since I started my website it was hosted by one of my ex-colleague in his shared server (CentOS?). Today I moved www.stylesen.org to a new server (Debian Lenny) which has lots of space and unlimited bandwidth for me. Lets see how it goes! should closely watch the differences on this move.

My favorite song. I want it here, so that I can hear whenever I feel like! Don't know why but this song makes me excited!

On last Friday ie., 05-06-2009, http://dev.tce.edu/ went live with "Redmine". The previous "trac" based site was replaced with Redmine, considering the ease of administering projects with a web interface. The alpha run (April 25th, 2009) of Redmine site was served using FCGI over apache which was very slow and the performance was not up to the mark. But now we run the production site using mod_rails over apache2 which is faster! Also the subversion repository creation is automated

I received my "Full Commit Access" to Subversion code base http://svn.collab.net/ on 23-08-2008 01:47 AM IST. It was a long time dream for me to get commit access to a popular Free Software project and it came true now. This made me the 2nd committer in India :) (after Kamesh) You can have a look at http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/COMMITTERS for details. I received my partial commit access to subversion code base on 02-11-2007 01:22 AM IST.

Yesterday around 22:00 IST Planet TCE was launched. It took me just an hour to come up with this planet. Planet is a wonderful software which is very flexible. Right now the planet has minimal subscription and in future it will grow with more subscriptions. It aggregates blog feeds of students/staff/alumnus of Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. Will try to tweak the CSS of this planet when I find time :)

A deer was saved!

Today at around 22:40 hrs I went out to empty my dustbin. When I was about to cross the road near my house, an ambassador car was rushing towards me, and I just crossed the road. While I was throwing away the packets, I turned to see that the car skidded and went out of control, when it hit a deer which was crossing the road. There were 2 to 3 deers crossing the road at that time, and one was hit by the car. The car driver didn't had courtesy to get down and see the injured deer, he just took the car after stopping for 20 seconds (may be recognizing that he has hit a deer and not a calf which will definitely create problems).
